The Epic Cosmos Of Communication Tree
Mr.Cool Invnentions‘s cousin Mr.Woody Wide Web, a four and a half century old, well heightened, highly talkative with smooth and silvery brown bark but a little rugged and deeply fissured due to his age, was the advisor of trees community till 2500 B.C. The community had good relations with other species especially predatory insects and lived a happy life with no external threats. But this merriness couldn’t continue for a long time when one day some marauders invaded the place and started attacking the trees.
When Woody Wide Web watched this scenario that other trees were getting infected and eaten by the attackers, he extruded a huge number of unstable molecules into the air around them. Nearby plants of the same species and even some other species became cautious and less venerable to attack soon after exposure to some of these chemicals, and the plant’s released substances that made themselves harder to digest.
The released aromas with evocative smells could be seen as cries of warning or screams for help and summoned the nearby predatory insects to defend. The strikers were shocked to witness the anomalous behavior of trees, and they ran away leaving everything behind.
Soon, news spread across the entire tree world that there was a Communication Tree who had plant communication system. Keeping the advantage of his fame, Mr. Woody W. Web started training other trees to update their plant communication system and defend themselves from future attacks. During his mentorship, he realized that signals could not only be sent to spread information to other trees but also acted as a brain to deliver responses rapidly and efficiently to other parts of the same tree or plant. But a cautionary sense telling those parts to get ready for a looming attack. The trip could be as long as tens of meters in a tall tree. But they had to face a problem as well. Sometimes these chemical messages could attract parasites, infectious organisms or pests. And their ability became an issue for them. The communication tree told them to use these chemical messages in danger to avoid any inconvenience.
While at the same time, the attackers started doing researches about the communication tree and the plant communication system, and find out that even plants had their languages or at least regional accents. They also discovered that a signal could not only travel through the air, but the same signal was able to go straight to those parts of the plants which were closest to the attack.
During the continued advancement in the plant communication system, the Communication Tree also found out that all of the information between plants was not transferred through the air. A handsome majority of plants was in symbiotic associations with soil fungi. Trees provided the sugar to the fungi, and in return, fungi helped the trees to gather essential nutrients present in the ground and in collecting water. And sometimes the cells of the individual fungus were the cause of joining many plants through an underground system, far away from the reach of attackers’ naked eye. At several times when one plant suffered damage, other plants connected to this nexus through their soil fungi protected and prepared themselves against attacks which were possible shortly. This fungal network was another carrier for information, an actual descendant to carry the abilities of Mr. Woody Wide Web.
The attackers were pondering on the query that whether it was correct to narrate and define this whole scenario as communication or was it just some internal ability other than communication? As a slightly desperate investigator, what attracted the attackers to plant science and plant nature was the way those trees and other plants fluidly adjusted to their surroundings and how they react to the fluctuations in their environment.
So after a little researches on almost everything about the Communication Tree and his able plant communication system, attackers returned, and this time, they directly attacked Mr. Woody Wide Web. As a consequence, Mr. Woody Wide Web couldn’t survive the attack and lost his life. But his descendants have been serving the entire plant race as Communication Tree for centuries.
